Why is this necessary?

There are several societal factors that make it difficult for those who are transgender to prosper. Normalized discrimination as well as a lack of resources and support systems are a huge part of this. CITRF hopes to combat that and give trans people a financial boost when it is needed.

Why Cape & Islands?

Boston-based resources can be difficult to access living on Cape Cod. Although we are closely allied with Fenway Health & other organizations, there is a large gap in resources for trans people on cape without having to travel large distances.

Can I request funds if I am not transgender?

Although there are specific struggles for all marginalized communities, this organization is focused on the transgender population. If you are not transgender but require assistance, please send us a message and we will try and put you in contact with someone who can help.

What kinds of things can I request funds for?

In short, whatever is needed. Lost your job and can’t make rent this month? Need to take an uber to the doctor? Got an unexpected bill and can’t swing hormones? We are here to help. Click here to request funds.

Can I write this donation off on my taxes?

Yes! Nauset Interfaith is our fiscal sponsor, meaning they hold & handle all donations. They are a 501c3 Non-Profit organization.

What will my donation go towards?

After our website hosting fees, 100% of your donation will be going towards transgender people in need. (Website fees $135 a year, already paid for in 2021)
